Introduction

Meditation is like wiring in the walls. It keeps the current flowing through the walls, providing light and power to your house.

One of the great benefits of meditation is bringing light to the dark corners of you mind. Think of meditation as the wiring for your blueprint for living. Be still and center; you'll receive magnificent rewards for simple meditation.

There are so many meditation techniques, we'll not try to cover them in this article; rather we'll focus on the benefits of bringing light to your world with simple meditations.

Meditation has been practiced for millennia to develop spiritual awareness. It is a method of communing with the Universal Mind.It is illumination that turns on the lights of your soul.

It can be practiced by anyone anywhere. Meditation puts you in touch with your soul, the still small voice within. It's a restful place in a world of turmoil.

For Starters:

In building a house, before you add the drywall you'd put in the wiring so you'll have a constant dependable source of power and light.

Meditation is the wiring in your spiritual house. It is a practice that keeps you illuminated and energized.

Brain studies have shown that people who meditate have a greater capacity for empathy. It was concluded that those who meditate are more altruistic in their reactions to life and those around them.

Meditation works with the mind. It is a way of getting to know your mind. Turn on your lights; See the beauty of your mind.

Meditation helps you to train your mind. Since your thoughts create your life, it is imperative that you learn meditation. Meditation is a way of learning how to control your thoughts and thereby create the life you want.

Meditation is taking the time to get in touch with your inner self. It's a mental disciple by which one attempts to get beyond reflexive thinking. It is a state of inner awareness and relaxation.

When & How:

You can focus on a sound, a phrase, a prayer, or a visualization. You can do it in the morning, evening or any where, any time and it's free.

The only effort it takes, is taking the time to do it. Still the chatter in your mind, if only for a few minutes a day it's priceless.

Ask your self: How many times a week do you meditate?

Never
Once or twice
Three of four times
Five to six
Seven or more

If you want your wiring to meet self building codes you should meditate daily for at least 10 to 15 minutes. Pick what works best for you. If you're serious about building a new life, do a daily meditation combined with inspirational reading.

One of the simplest forms of meditation is to concentrate on your breathing. Just sit comfortably and close your eyes. Concentrate exclusively on your breathing in and out.

Another Very powerful technique is repeating a phrase, such as, "Be still and know that I am God."

Walking is another form of meditation. Concentrate on walking, the roll of the foot, the push off, the endorphin rush. Walking is a feel good thing to do for both your body and mind.

You have to train your mind to be still. The average persons mind is used to wandering off wherever it wants. Can you imagine your new house with wiring that has no grounds or circuit breakers?

Ask yourself, are you the mistress or the master of your mind?

Daily meditation will teach allow you to be the master of your thoughts and of your new blueprint for living.

Meditation keeps your mind fit, like exercising makes the body fit. It takes no gym, no special equipment; just a commitment to taking charge of your thoughts and your life. Who turns on the switch when you enter a room?

Learn to switch on the lights; take a stress-break wherever you are. Stop and concentrate on two or three deep breaths. It is amazing.

Meditation is often suggested as a complement to medical treatments. Because of increased acceptance of holistic medicine, there is more interest in the use of alternative complementary therapies such as meditation.

Meditation is like resting. It gives your mind a break from the rigors of the day.

Meditation puts you in touch with your feelings and emotions. It does not solve problems but calms the mind so you see things differently.

Visualize entering a room where the lights are glaring; you turn the dimmer switch to dim the light to a pleasant place. That's like meditation. It calms and soothes your mind.

It helps you let go of all worry, fear and tension. Enlightenment is a result of meditation and the more enlightened you become the more free you'll live. Less worry about the Jones's; who are they anyway?

Summary:

Meditation is like defraging your computer. It clears away useless information.

I recently read a summary of meditation:

Stop - Look - Listen.

Stop and be still to calm the mind. You'll find freedom from stress, clarity, tranquility, calmness, peace.

I always come away from meditation with a clearer sharper mind. I can count on my electricity to light the room.

Meditation frees you from suffering. You'll lose your sense of greed and confusion.

You will finally get it; the present moment is all you have. The here and now; that is enlightenment.

You'll find yourself with less anger and confusion.
You have your new blueprint wired to code. You don't have to worry anymore.
